Otherwise Known As "Soft Demolition"

What is Selective Demolition?

Selective demolition is a focused method that involves carefully dismantling specific interior or exterior sections of a project while keeping the remainder intact. This approach effectively reduces costs and waste. Its versatility makes it suitable for a range of projects, both residential and commercial.

Is there a lot of waste?

We take our demolition process a step further than traditional techniques like crane and lead ball methods. Our commitment to eco-friendly practices involves repurposing recyclable materials to reduce environmental impact. We emphasize a "clean" demolition approach that prioritizes recycling, repurposing, reusing materials and donating to

Instead of going into a landfill, these extremely useful items were repurposed and donated to The Mustang Acres Farm in Capac that    provide for animals in need.  (Right Photo)

A clean site is a secure site. Maintaining an organized environment is crucial for the safety of any demolition project. We believe that prioritizing good housekeeping is key to fostering a safe work environment and managing debris, regardless of the project's size. Regular clean-ups, including sweeping and using our Equipter for material management, help reduce property damage and efficiently transport debris to our onsite dumpsters—responsibilities that BT proudly upholds.

What safety precautions do you practice?

A HEPA air scrubber is made to filter out gases, particles, and chemicals from a specific area, cleaning the indoor air quality by catching airborne contaminants. These machines, often called negative air machines, work by creating negative pressure that pulls outside air into the scrubber like a vacuum. This setup keeps airborne pollutants from escaping and helps contain mold, dust, particles, and odors within the work area. Setting up a containment zone during specific demo is another way we reduce risks.

Our air scrubbers do a great job of getting rid of dust, mold spores, odors, and other tiny particles during construction, restoration, or cleanup projects, making sure our workers and clients stay safe and healthy while we get the job done efficiently.

We also practice the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for our employees. PPE consists of hard hats, safety goggles, respirators, and various other tools designed to shield workers from potential hazards.  We understand and comply with regulations and standards OSHA Standards.

We recently completed another Commercial Interior Demolition project, known as "White Box."

This project involved the removal of non-load bearing block walls, stripping glued drywall from existing block walls, and taking out drop ceiling tiles, grid, ductwork, carpet, floor tiles, doors, door frames, and washroom fixtures, all to create a spacious 800+ square foot multi-purpose room.

Key Highlights:

  • Implemented dust containment and protection for floors, walls, and windows. Utilized multiple air scrubbers to maintain air quality in the work area.

  • Staged block and debris on-site to minimize trips and disruptions to business operations.

  • Recycled block and metal materials to reduce waste.

  • Conducted specific demolition tasks during designated hours to minimize noise.

  • Completed final cleanup on schedule, ready the next trade.
